The Light Fund launches 10,000km for Kelvyn
Industry charity The Light Fund has launched a new initiative in memory of late industry legend, Kelvyn Gardner - encouraging everyone to come together and cover 10,000km throughout April.
Kelvyn – who was a long-standing trustee for The Light Fund – passed away suddenly in January. He was a firm believer in getting 10,000 steps a day which is where the idea for the challenge in his memory was born.
As COVID-19 restrictions begin to lift, and people are able to meet up and exercise with colleagues outdoors, the licensing community is being asked for their help to meet the target of 10,000km by the end of April, with the cumulative effort being tracked via Strava.
As regular collaborators in the design, manufacture and retail of licensed merchandise, we are three companies - Pogo Group, Poetic Brands, Fanela - used to working closely together to supply major high street retailers and grocers, as well as selling directly online.
Designing a range of clothing and accessories to sell online, printing and shipping from our UK factory we can hopefully give something back through The Light fund and in memory of Kelvyn Gardner. All products are printed in the UK with low waste printing technology. Made in an ethically run factory audited for a wide range of social and sustainability criteria.
About The Light Fund
The Light Fund is a registered charity, which raises monies to fund worthwhile charity projects that help children, women and men. Since its inception, back in 2004, The Light Fund has raised over £1.4 million and funded hundreds of different charity projects. The Light Fund’s fundraising activities happen throughout the year. In the Autumn registered charities are invited to submit projects (online via this website) they would like to have funded. In December of each year The Light Fund committee then votes on which of these projects to fund with the successful beneficiaries being informed by the end of the year.
